Our Little Angel Tori Lynn

Our Little Tori Lynn is a trooper.. She has had a few days of ups and downs.. She is off her heart medication, but is receiving antibiotics because of some bacteria that was discovered in her blood from one of her draws.. She tries to suck her little thumb.. but of course her tubes get in the way.. Her oxygen has been pretty good these past few days.. It's hard for this Grandma to be so far away.. I find myself thinking of her brother often.. I think about what a cutie he must be sitting and playing with our relatives that I know were there to greet him.. I wonder what he looks like.. I wonder if he is as handsome as his daddy was as a little boy.. I am amazed at how much love and admiration I as his grammy have for him.. He brought so much to our lives in 2 1/2 short days.. He was only here for a short while.. but the Love that we all feel for him could have filled an eternity.. How thin the veil is between Heaven and Earth.. I am sure that he is watching over our little Tori Lynn.. keeping her strong.. Hang in there little angel.. you certainly have your own special guardian angel brother...Carter Cort..

Grandma's Little Sweet Pea

Our little Tori had her surgery at PCMC a few days ago.. She came through it like a trooper.. She did real well.. They told us that she would have good days and bad days.. which has turned out to be true.. although Grandma says she has good moments and bad moments.. Our lives are lived in moments.. and Tori has brought some special moments to our lives these past 2 weeks. She has a strong personality. This Grandma has spent many hours staring at her.. talking to her.. and praying for her. I am amazed at the love that i have for this baby and how she has touched so many people's hearts. She now weighs 1 lb. 7 oz. She is being fed 1cc of breast milk every 3 hours.. and guess what.. Her mother Kayla called to tell me she got to change a dirty diaper.. What a milestone for such a tiny little girl. As of Tuesday night, Tori was on insulin to try to lower her glucose levels. Her blood pressure is being monitored constantly, She was receiving some blood. which we are told is all normal for her size and age of prematurity. We are confident that she is in the right place.. They are taking good care of her.. Tori... Grammy loves her little sweet pea... there truly are ANGEL'S AMONG US...

Mend My Broken Heart

Update on our little Princess Tori; On Tuesday afternoon Tori took her first ride in a limo.

Actually; not a limo but an ambulance transport bus. We had a teary good bye as we left our friends at Ogden Regional.

We were on our way to Primary Childrens Hospital

The doctors thought that Primary Childrens Hospital would be better at fixing the little hole in Tori's heart. She has spent two nights getting ready for surgery. Finally today the doctors thought she would be ready and strong enough for surgery.

The surgery went really well and she is right now sleeping peacefully. Her room is much different than at Ogden Regional. Here at PCMC Tori is in a room with 5 other babies.

We are proud of Tori and her desire to fight to stay here with her family. We know that we have a long road ahead of us, but we know that Heavenly Father is near us. We are grateful for all those that are praying for us.

The Peterson Family

Carter returns to Heaven

Our Angel Carter Cort Peterson was called home to our Heavenly Father on Saturday Oct 13, 2007 after only a short time on this earth.
We were so blessed to feel the spirit of such a Valiant Child of God. Although we only had a short time with him, his memory will forever be in our hearts.

It was such a bitter-sweet time to share this experience with my family, through all the tears, laughter, love, happiness, and sorrow. This experience has re-affirmed the love that Heavenly Father has for us, the love we have for him, the love that we have for each other, And most importantly the love that we have for our precious angels.

We are so grateful for the Love and Support given to our little ones by the Nurses, and staff at Ogden Regional Medical Center. We have witnessed so many miracles at this special place, including meeting some very special nurse's that have touched our lives forever. Thank you so much!

Our family would like to say thank you to all of those special individuals who spent many hours at the hospital keeping us company. For the hugs, for the meals, for the prayers and fasting, you have given so much comfort at this especially difficult time for our family..

Little Carter-
I want you to know how much your parents Love you, they are crazy about you. You have Grandma's and Grandpa's who absolutly adore you, so many Aunts and Uncles who cherish the thought of you. Carter, you have a big sister who is still struggling to stay with our family here on this earth. Please be with her, keep her company, Pray for her comfort.. You are so Loved..

As your Auntie, I cannot wait to get to know you better, to see what you are going to look like when you are older,to be able to feel more of your spirit. Thank you for being so Valient and for helping my testimony grow. I Love You!!!

Our Little Angels

Yesterday we learned that baby Carter was beginning to have some problems. His tiny, little veins are not holding the blood so it is seeping into his tiny head. That night, Grandpa Bart gave him a Name and a Blessing. We are so lucky to have had lots of loved ones here with us to experience this with us.

This morning the doctors reported that Baby Tori is also now battling blood on her brain. Grandpa Bart was again able to give one of new grand children a Name and a Blessing--surrounded by many people who love this little angel. When a full-term baby is born, the opening between umbilical cord and heart closes. With these babies, that hasn't happened. It would need to be surgically closed. This surgery would need to be done at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City. Of course, that would mean sending the babies away from family and the risk is quite great and would probably be of no benefit.

Kayla and Frank are surrounded by those who love them. Please keep Mom, Dad and babies in your thoughts and prayers.

Presenting Carter and Tori

Dear Friends and Family,

We are so excited to present to you the new additions to our family; Carter Cort Peterson weighing in at 1 pound 8 ounces, and Sweet Tori Lynn Peterson weighing in at 1 pound 6 ounces.

They were born on October 10, 2007 being 14 weeks early. They were taken by emergency C-Section; Tori at 3:35 PM and Carter at 3:38 PM. Shortly after they were given Surfactant to help develop their lungs. For two long hours we waited to hear how they were doing. During this time they received IVs, feeding tubes, and were intibated. The doctors then came in and told us that they were doing fine.

We know that this is going to be a long journey and don't expect to take our babies home until January. Please keep them in your prayers as they have a long way to go.
